This policy explains how Master Clips Barber Shop collects, uses, protects, and handles personal information across our mobile application (Android and iOS) and website.

1. Scope and Application Identification

This Privacy Policy applies to the Master Clips Barber Shop mobile application (Package ID: com.masterclips.barberia), our website at https://www.masterclipsbarbershop.com, and any related booking and account services operated by Master Clips Barber Shop in Edison, New Jersey.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information when you use our services:

  • Account and Profile Information: Name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials.
  • Booking Information: Service selections, barber preferences, appointment date and time, status, and booking history.
  • Device and Technical Information: Operating system, app version, device identifiers, and IP address required to ensure security, maintain session integrity, and deliver software updates.
  • Photos and Media: If you are an authorized barber or staff member uploading a profile picture, the app requests access to your photo library via the system photo picker. We do not access unrelated photos, audio files, or device documents.
  • Communications and Support: Information you provide when contacting customer support or submitting inquiries.

Note: We do not record audio, do not access device microphones, and do not track precise real-time background GPS location.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected personal information for legitimate business purposes:

  • To create, verify, and authenticate user accounts.
  • To book, confirm, reschedule, manage, or cancel barber appointments.
  • To send critical service and appointment updates via push notifications and SMS (with your consent).
  • To send an occasional feedback or Google review request after a completed appointment, but only when you separately opt in to that optional SMS program.
  • To maintain system performance, diagnose technical errors, and prevent fraudulent bookings.
  • To comply with applicable legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

4. Mobile App Permissions and Push Notifications

The Master Clips Barber Shop mobile app requests minimal system permissions strictly aligned with core functionality:

  • Push Notifications: We use notification services to deliver real-time appointment reminders, schedule adjustments, barber availability changes, and queue updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.
  • Photo Library / Media: Only requested when a barber or staff user chooses to upload or update a profile picture.
  • Network and Storage: Secure device storage is used to safely store session tokens and offline appointment caches.

5. SMS Messaging, Review Emails, and Phone Number Verification

If you consent to appointment text messages, we send appointment confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, cancellations, and shop notices. Appointment SMS consent does not authorize marketing, promotional, or review-request messages.

When creating an account or updating your phone number, a one-time SMS verification code is sent to protect account security.

Review-request SMS are a separate, optional program. We send an occasional request for feedback or a Google review after a completed appointment only when you actively select the separate review-request checkbox during phone registration or in your website profile. This consent is not required to create an account, book an appointment, or receive appointment notifications.

Message frequency varies based on your account activity, bookings, and separately opted-in review requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELPfor help, or START to re-enable messages from the applicable SMS number. A STOP reply to the dedicated review-request number stops review-request SMS from that number.

We do not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We may send an occasional email requesting feedback or a Google review after completed appointments to an account with an email address. Review emails are promotional, identify Master Clips Barber Shop, include our mailing address, and include a direct unsubscribe link. You may also disable or re-enable review emails in your website Profile. Unsubscribing from review emails does not change appointment emails or any SMS preference.

6. Data Processors, Diagnostics, and Analytics

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We share data only with trusted service providers who adhere to strict confidentiality and security standards:

  • Database and Cloud Infrastructure: Supabase is utilized for secure data storage, authentication, and cloud functions.
  • Crash and Error Diagnostics: We use GlitchTip / Sentry to monitor mobile application crashes and technical errors, helping us identify and resolve stability issues quickly. Diagnostic reports contain stack traces and technical device parameters, not personal booking notes or payment details.
  • Usage Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Firebase Analytics help us understand booking flows and navigation patterns. Mobile users can turn off usage analytics at any time directly in the Account settings screen.
  • Google Maps: Review ratings and shop location integration are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention and Security Safeguards

We retain personal data only for as long as needed to fulfill booking operations, maintain active accounts, and satisfy legal, tax, or fraud-prevention requirements. We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures, including HTTPS encryption in transit and encrypted data storage at rest.

8. Account and Data Deletion (Data Deletion Policy)

Master Clips Barber Shop respects your right to delete your account and personal data at any time. We provide two direct ways to request account and data deletion:

Method 1: Direct Deletion Within the Mobile App

  1. Open the Master Clips Barber Shop mobile application.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap on the Account tab in the navigation menu.
  4. Scroll down and tap Delete account permanently.
  5. Confirm your request when prompted.

Upon in-app confirmation, your upcoming appointments will be immediately cancelled, your authentication credentials revoked, and your personal profile data removed from our active database.

Method 2: Web or Email Deletion Request (Without App Installation)

If you have uninstalled the mobile application or cannot access your account, you may submit an account and data deletion request via email:

  • Subject line: Account Deletion Request - Master Clips Barber Shop
  • Include your registered email address and phone number for verification purposes.

Deletion requests submitted by email are verified and executed within thirty (30) business days.

Types of Data Deleted vs. Retained

  • Permanently Deleted: Name, phone number, email address, profile avatar, password credentials, notification tokens, and all upcoming appointment reservations.
  • Retained Records: Anonymized transaction and appointment history records may be retained strictly to the extent required by applicable law, tax compliance, or accounting audit standards, stripped of any direct personal identifiers.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, review, and update your personal profile information at any time.
  • Opt out of SMS text communications by replying STOP or contacting support. A STOP reply to the dedicated review-request number stops review-request messages from that number.
  • Disable push notifications through your operating system settings.
  • Opt out of Firebase analytics tracking in the mobile app under Account settings.
  • Request permanent account and data deletion as described in Section 8.
